Four full days of band camp are history and the band continues to make progress and have a great time.
Today began with the entire band going through warm up and stretch as a large group. Because the forecast was for a very hot day the band skipped the "body by Brockman" strength training today and the horn line and guard went out early on the field to set the drill for the second movement of the show.
In parallel the percussion group worked indoors on musical warm ups.
Mid-day the whole band came together inside for lunch and council games.
After lunch the entire band stayed inside and the horn line practiced music for the second movement of the show, while the guard and percussion continued to work in parallel as individual sections.
The entire band came together to enjoy some freshly grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. After dinner the entire band went out side and worked very hard on continuous performances of the introduction and movement one as continuous run throughs with drill and music.
Many folks enjoyed an ice pop on the way out the door for home after a great day of putting the show together.
---Couple of reminders for Friday---
The students should be at the school tomorrow at 8:30 with a pair of black socks for picture day.
Also, be sure to come up to the high school tomorrow night at 6pm to see the band run through a section of the show prior to the pot luck. And speaking of the pot luck, please look back at your band camp packet to see what dish you are asked to bring to the dinner.
In addition, props and flags will be under construction all day tomorrow so please come up to the school if you can to help out.
And finally, don't forget that Mr. Brockman will be available for questions and answers during the pot luck tomorrow night and the band booster board will also be there with taking apparel orders and giving you more information about signing up to raise fair share money by working at RBC.
Hope to see you tomorrow.
